On this edition of the Pirates Prospect Update, we take a look at pitcher Jun-Seok Shim, and his dream of playing professional baseball in the United States.
The baseball talent in the Pacific is constantly expanding and last winter saw the Pirates delve into it themselves when they signed Shim, the top ten international prospect of that year’s class. The number two overall pitcher in that class expressed his delight in signing with Pittsburgh, and getting to tour PNC Park following the news.
“It’s been my dream to play in the (United) States,” Shim said. “I wanted to pursue my dream to come here and play baseball.
